Research In Motion Tablet Computer to Sell for Less Than $500

Research In Motion (RIMM) will sell its BlackBerry PlayBook tablet computer in North America with a price tag of less than $500.

“The product will be very competitively priced,” Co-CEO Jim Balsillie told Bloomberg News. Balsillie declined to be more specific on the price.

Samsung Has Sold 3 Million Galaxy S Smartphones in the U.S.

Samsung Electronics (SSNHY) said it has made 3 million shipments of its Galaxy S smartphone to the United States, out of 7 million worldwide.

Supply of the phones, which run on Google’s (GOOG) Android software, has been constrained by the Samsung AMOLED display technology, Chief Marketing Officer Paul Golden told Reuters. The phone went on sale in the United States in July.
