In Asia Thursday Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index tumbled 1.7% to 9,382 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index slid 0.9% to 23,557. In China the Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.1% to end the day at 3,004.
