Asian markets were mixed Thursday. In Japan, markets reacted quickly to a slight fall in the value of the yen and to signs that the European debt crisis won’t hamper global economic growth, sending the Nikkei 225 Index up 0.8%. In Hong Kong the Hang Seng Index inched up 0.4% and China’s Shanghai Composite Index slid 1.4%.
