Walmart Stores (WMT) may change its plans to buy South African retailer Massmart, choosing instead to take a majority stake in the company.
This would allow Massmart to maintain its listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Comcast (CMCSA) reported earnings of 31 cents per share for the third quarter, compared with 33 cents per share a year earlier.
Earnings were negatively impacted by the costs of the NBC Universal transaction, the company said in a statement.
Revenue rose 7.3% to $9.5 billion, driven by solid operating results in the company’s cable and programming segments.
