When Ford awarded CEO Alan Mulally more than $50 million in compensation for 2010′s record profit it raised eyebrows around Detroit. Now, the UAW is using that big payday as a rallying point for members as it starts negotiations to regain some of what autoworkers gave up in concessions during the downturn.

Most Toyota Plants in Japan Remain Idle

Toyota Motor (TM) reportedly won’t resume vehicle production at any of its plants in Japan on Tuesday, as the automaker had planned. The continued stoppage leaves in question just how soon the world’s largest automaker will be able to resume operations in its home market, following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
