Under the agreement, Dell will pay Compellent investors $27.75 a share in cash. Problem is those investors had bid up the stock to above $34 in anticipation of a much a better offer. If they ultimately reject Dell’s deal, it’ll be another black eye for the computing giant.

Dell Confirms Compellent Buyout Talks, Sends Compellent Shares Tumbling

Dell confirmed Thursday it’s in exclusive buyout talks with Compellent Technologies, but the proposed buyout price for the data storage company is apparently less than what investors were betting on. Compellent shares fell as much as 15% to an intraday low of $28.58 a share.
